"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."- Nelson Mandela.

Education is important to the whole world, but we Indians are the pioneer of the same. Education was so important in our country that we have source of knowledge- Veda dating back 5000 B.C. We have oldest record of Universities in the world - Takshasheela and Nalanda. The importance of education can just be collected from a single sloka of Panchatantras-

"Vidya dadati vinayam vinaya dyati patratava,

patratava dhanamapnoti dhanadharmam tata sukham"

Meaning- Education gives humility, humility gives eligibility, eligibility helps to earn money and where there is money there is happiness.

This shows education not only makes you a better person but also helps you to earn your livelihood in a dignified way.

Education is not only getting good marks but to discover new things and increase our knowledge. An educated person has the ability to differentiate between right and wrong or good and evil. It is the foremost responsibility of a society to educate its citizens and focus should be on women. One educated woman can bring about a change in a family and even the society as a whole.

Education, if looked at beyond its conventional boundaries, forms the very essence of all our actions. what we do is what we know and have learned. Most feel that education is a necessity they tend to use it as a tool for reaching a specific target or mark, after which there is no further need to seek greater education. Nonetheless, the importance of education in society and knowledge cannot be ever separated into two distinct entities.

Receiving a good education helps empower us, thus making us strong enough to look after our self in any given situation. It keeps us aware of the surrounding, rules and regulations of the society we are in. It is only through education that we can question, support, protest or bring any change in the structural functioning of the governance and economy. It helps us understand our self better.

Education and studying regularly, gives people of all age groups something substantial and challenging to do. It helps them think and use their idle hours, doing something productive and worthwhile. Education need not be purely academic and may include reading for leisure or as a passion for literature, philosophy, art, politics, economics or even scientific research. There is no limit, to all that you can teach yourself, only if you take the interest to learn and grow as an individual. However, those who treat knowledge as trash, eventually find themselves getting absorbed with thoughts of violence. It is people such as these who turn against the society.

Those who have enough education, steer the path of development and progress for their country. It is these individuals who go ahead and become teachers, scientists, inventors, welfare activists, soldiers and politicians who work together to form the very backbone of the society. Without this pool of intellect, the economic and social framework would crumple and fall.

A person becomes perfect with education as he is not only gaining something from it, but also contributing to the growth of a nation. We must realise the importance of education. We must aim to ensure that each citizen of our nation is educated and independent.
